Oliver, King Edward VI Grammar School
Railhead was a thrilling read, with plenty of suspense and adventure. I liked how details of the future space-world were woven into the book, just enough to satisfy our curiosity but not too many to take away from the plot. The plot itself was very interesting, and not at all what I expected when picking up the book. It completely defied the futuristic space stereotype of spaceships and aliens and created an intriguing story. The characters were well developed, ranging from Zen, who simply wanted to ride the trains, to the complex character of Raven, who was prepared to murder to create a better world in the long run. Overall, Railhead was a brilliant novel, different to any other science-fiction book I have read.
