Salt to the Sea

Salt To The Sea is about 4 people called Florian, Amelia Alfred and Joanna. It is set in WW2, Germany and surrounding countries. I really liked how all the characters felt so real and relevant. All of them came alive to me as the author went deep into their emotions. This book almost made me cry as the ending is extremely sad and depressing. The story was very gripping and I couldn't put it down as the storyline always kept me guessing. The author also wrote sad and tense scenes particularly well and I could picture the ship where the disaster took place. I would recommend this book to 13+ because of its adult themes and gripping storyline. I would give this book 5/5 as I liked it all!
