The Bone Sparrow

The Bone Sparrow is a moving piece of work. This extraordinary book is about Subhi, a 10-year-old refugee. The author defines Subhi as a clever and imaginative boy. He has never once stepped out of the detention camp. Subhi had no hope at all. Until the day everything changes when Jimmie makes an impactful entrance in Subhi's life.

This novel is about true friendship which knows no bounds. It demonstrates how children can be extremely courageous and creative at the same time. Although this is a work of fiction, it is based on many events that have occurred in real life.

The Bone Sparrow has been a true page turner for me. The plot is so intriguing, captivating and unique that it left me speechless. This book symbolizes freedom, friendship and hope. Many times I looked down and found myself wearing the characters' shoes. It leaves one thinking about how life truly is for a refugee. I truly recommend this sentimental, tear-jerking drama.
