Wolf Hollow

'Wolf Hollow' is a novel about a young girl 'living in rural Pennsylvania' who has a comfortable life in a nice home with amazing family. Over all life is going well for Annabelle until manipulative Betty arrives in town. Annabelle's calm world is shattered.

I thought that the plot for this novel was original and different to quite a few books that I have read on this topic. I thought that the setting suited the plot and I liked how there was a bit of history to the setting too. For example, when the author describes the history of the wolf pits and what they were used for - this gives you a back story. I thought that Lauren Wolk did very well in incorporating the bits of history that you need to know into the plot.
However, Annabelle's personality in my opinion was quite unfitting for the way she was portrayed. She was made out as a confident quiet girl at the start, and at the end she was quite outgoing. I do not know if this is because she has learnt to be more confident, but I just thought it was a big jump from being quite so assured.
Lauren did not describe the character's looks very well except for Toby whom I thought could have been described more clearly. Lastly, she could have maybe changed the title due to the fact that it did not give any insight into the book.
Over all I rate this book 4/5 stars.
