The Bone Sparrow
The Bone Sparrow grabs you from the moment you pick it up. One of the saddest books ever. The narrative switches between two characters. The idea of the book tells part of a true story and tells a story of a boy that grew up in the detention centre, and a girl on the outside. The characters of the book are fictional; but the setting is hauntingly true. The book is about different situations but equally as hard to overcome. I love Jimmie's confidence compared to Subhi's cowardice. All the characters develop in there own way throughout the book. Also includes elements of backstory. Overall a great book. I give this book a 9/10.
