The Stars at Oktober Bend
This book is about Alice who is reaching out to express herself through her words and poems, and Manny, who is running away from his past.
'The Stars at Oktober Bend' had a very original concept as it was written from the viewpoint of a girl with speech difficulties. I liked the beautifully lyrical side of this book as it was full of emotion. I found the point of view was perfect as I found her voice very captivating. However, I did find this book hard to follow when I first started reading it as it has no capital letters and also has very short phrases that don't make sense. For this reason, it took me a few chapters to get into this book and I only truly understood the plot when I read the last few chapters.
I do not think I would recommend this to anybody who wants an easy read. However, this book is great if you would like to challenge yourself.
