The Smell of Other People's Houses
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, as it was funny and engaging, but also powerful and very emotional. The four main characters, Dora, Ruth, Alyce and Hank were very intricately connected together, without the storyline feeling unbelievable or too far-fetched. There were funny elements, such as when Hank is naked at the nunnery, sad moment, like when Ruth's baby is put up for adoption, happy moments, when the adoptive parents are just what she wanted for Marguerite, and scary moments such as when Dora's dad threatens her. It was a great book and I enjoyed reading it.
