The Bone Sparrow

This book was incredible. Being a topic I don't know much about, I ended up discovering a lot about immigration centres and immigrants. This book was eye opening and I couldn't put it down without reading the next chapter.
The scenery was obviously bleak. The immigration centre was, apart from being somewhere that is home to all of these children and families, rather a barren and upsetting place that was described in this story. However, I fell in love with the descriptions of the places in the stories that were intertwined with 'The Bone Sparrow.' Furthermore, the way that freedom was only on the other side of the fence created a feeling of isolation and segregation. This was what I thought about the scenery in 'The Bone Sparrow,'
The characters were also a large addition to the story. With all of the characters being diverse and different from one another, the story is expanded and made more interesting. This is what I thought about the characters.
I would recommend this book to anyone and would rate it 9/10 as the ending could've been different in my opinion.
