The Smell of Other People's Houses
What an emotive story. It really does transport the reader to Alaska and to 'America's Last Frontier'. Not only can we see the pictures in our minds as we experience this book, but we can smell them too. Such a rare thing when reading a story, and so powerful. Each character has their own voice as their chapters alternate, telling their individual stories, and as the threads of each person's story wove towards the climax, my heart was in my mouth.
