The Bone Sparrow
The Bone Sparrow by Zana Fraillon is a novel which follows the life of Subhi, a refugee living in a refugee camp, from a third-person perspective. He was born in the camp and has never seen the outside world or anyone from it, until Jimmie, a girl from the outside, manages to find a way into the camp undetected. In my opinion, the book was good on the whole, as it gave an insight into the life of a refugee and its use of language was interesting. The relationships between characters was developed so you could get a real sense of understanding or getting to know each and every one of the characters. However, at some points the story or meaning behind the words was unclear. Without spoiling anything, the ending was definitely confusing.
