I agree Oluchi! When I think of the Second World War I focus on the plight of the civilians in the occupied countries. This book was so good in describing the harrowing journeys millions of displaced people had during the last months of the war, fleeing eastern Europe and the Russian army, told through the eyes of four main characters. You were with them every step of the way.
