Andrew, Ermysted's

The Stars at Oktober Bend

The title and cover page illustrations are very eye-catching, with lots of scope for different interpretations. 'The Stars at Oktober Bend' is a beautifully written book, with an enormous amount of consideration gone into each word. The lack of capital letters was a trifle annoying but seemed trivial as you felt the feelings and emotions for Alice Nightingale, Emmanuel James and their families. The book gave me pure aspiration to be similar to Alice, in terms of loving writing and the view of 'poems can mean whatever you want them to.'
