The Bone Sparrow

I loved the book 'The Bone Sparrow'. I felt that as a reader, it was a very thought provoking book that all the way through. The narrative made you think about the desperation the refugees had. The struggle to decide whether they should risk their life leaving the country or wait to be killed kept me interested in the story. Also, the thought of their awful destination of a detention camp and the threat of an indefinite stay added to the overall effect of the narrative and made it a more convincing read. I also thought that it was well deserving of this award as it was a clear picture in my head the whole way through the book. It was a story of sadness and sorrow; and although it was fictional, it was too true to reality. Overall, this is one of the best books I have read... I would definitely recommend it!
