The Journey is an amazing book by Francesca Sanna about refugees leaving a war torn country after a woman was left widowed with 2 children. They embark on a journey to a safe place so they can live a peaceful life. On this voyage they overcome many obstacles on the way but they do escape a war torn country.
The book is quite sad but in my opinion it has a happy ending as the people are almost at their happy home. The abstract style is not so unclear that you cannot make out what it is but not as realistic as a photo and I think this expresses the story style well. I think it is a subtle but enjoyable detail that the colour scheme changes due to the mood of the story.
I would recommend this book to children of the age of 5-9 as at the age of 5 children would enjoy the colours and just think it a sad story as it is sugar coated but at the age of 9 people would understand the dark nature of the story .I rate this book 8/10.
