I think The Journey is a sad but happy story based on real things that are big parts of our lives today.
I really enjoyed reading this book as it gave me a greater understanding of what refugees’ lives might be like for them and helps us be thankful for everything we have and refugees don’t. I also really liked the fact that on one of the pages includes a picture of the mother’ friend talking about a place where they would be better off. It shows a speech bubble with a picture of the place inside and not just lines of text. I liked this because it is original and outside the box. I would recommend this book to people age 4 to 10. I think it has such a big age range because the issue it addresses is an issue for older children but because it is quite sugar coated then I think someone as young as 4 would be suitable to read it.
