The Smell of Other People's Houses

This book follows the story of four different people whose lives eventually intertwine, in the beginning this was a bit confusing to read because it kept switching between different peoples views. But as I read on and got to know the charcters it was easier, and it was fun near the end when you realise how all their lives are linked.
The four main characters are Ruth, Dora, Alyce and Hank. All the characters have had something go wrong for them, and the story follows how they overcome these problems. I loved how the book gives you little bits of all their lives and that helps you piece together the bigger picture and how their actions affect others around them. This book gives you a insight into what it was like living in Alaska in 1970. It was very touching at the end, so if you like this sort of thing then I definitely recommend that you read it. I thoroughly enjoyed it! :)
