Wolf Hollow

An incredible book unlike any I have read before...

Wolf Hollow tells the story of an ordinary girl called Annabel, whose world is nothing but steady, until her world is turned upside down the day a girl called Betty walks into her classroom. Quickly revealing herself to be cruel, and conniving, her unscrupulous schemes soon escalate into matters of life and death.

As I read through the twists and turns of this story, I became more and more gripped, while shocked by the awful tangles one seemingly innocent girl can manipulate from the lives around her. In addition, I grew to know the characters, while they developed in their opinions, and understanding throughout the book, and slowly revealed their past stories, and in some cases, their true identity. Moreover, I love the way the story is told entirely by Annabel, so we share in her emotions, and try to solve her problems in our own ways, and see things through her eyes.

Despite this, in my opinion the beginning is slow to reach the real plot, and this could cause some to put the book down, without finding how amazing it is. As well as this, I found the title and cover of Wolf Hollow to be deceiving in making the reader think it is related to a typical story of werewolves, when really it is nothing of that sort.

Overall, I recommend this book to anyone, and Lauren Wolk's ingenious plot will have you enhanced.
