I enjoyed this book as it was quite interesting. I liked the way the writer wrote the book because she wrote it as the events that happen towards the end relate back to the previous events nearer the start of the novel.
This book is about a young girl called Annabelle. She has lived a mostly quiet life in her small Pennsylvania town. Until a girl called Betty Glengarry walks into her class. Betty quickly shows everyone her personality, to be cruel and manipulative, and while her bullying seems hidden at first, things quickly escalate, and Toby becomes a target. While others have always seen Toby’s strangeness, Annabelle knows only kindness.
This book is quite an easy read compared to the first Carnegie book I read (The Stars Of Oktober Bend) which was a lot more complex. I would recommend this book to both genders aged 10+
