Ellie, Our Lady's Abingdon (OLA)
My first impression was that I would really enjoy the book, but in the end I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped.
Toby is a loner that everyone is afraid of. Annabelle is an 11 year old girl who has lived a quiet life, but in a place scarred by war. When Betty the village bully goes missing, all suspicion falls on Toby, but Annabelle knows he is innocent, just broken by war, and she will do all she can to clear his name. After all, no-one actually knows where Betty is.
I think this wasn't the best book, but may appeal more to others. I would recommend it to year 5 and above.
