The Stars at Oktober Bend
This is a really interesting book, covering topics that not many books cover. The book follows a kind-natured protagonist and a strange boy with a hard background.
Their story is a story of hardships and healing. Together they find a way to express emotions and grief that they couldn't before.
The protagonist (Alice) is surrounded by love, but has a strangeness about her. Her caring brother loves her more than the world, but when he finds someone else to love,a family drama evolves.
The granny plays an important part in sustaining the drama and tension.
It is interestingly written as I had to guess and think about what happened therefore making the story slightly different for everyone. It was an intriguing book and one that was thoroughly enjoyable.
