Owen, Fortismere

Salt to the Sea

This was a sad touching novel about different Germans and other Europeans trying to escape the threat of war. The story tells us how their lives were plagued with fear curiosity and anger as they meet to try to board their one way out of the devastation of war. They all try to board the boat the Wilhem Gustoff in the process just seeing how many people like them had suffered and the desperation to leave the killer that is war behind. This book was my favourite so far and I rate it 10/10 and recommend this book for people who like sad refugee stories
