Salt to the Sea

Salt to the Sea is a book set during WW2 in Germany and is a great action-thriller that will leave you hanging off the edge of your seat. I found this book very interesting, extremely exciting and also quite harrowing. I think that it is very clever the way that she wrote it in some of the points of view of the Germans; I could really see what it was like for them in their eyes, and I found it incredibly interesting considering that in History, I have only ever learnt about WW2 from the Allies' point of view, and it was fascinating to read about from different peoples' points of views in fiction form. I was completely awed by many of the things that I discovered whilst reading this book and I enjoyed every second of it.
It was great that Ruta Sepetys managed to include a cliffhanger at the end of every chapter, it kept me hooked right up to the end! I could see every bit of the story vividly in my head!
However, although I enjoyed it a lot, I would have liked it if there was a bit more description so that I could get even more feel of the surroundings, but other than that, I loved it and thought that it was fantastic as well as very educational!
I think Salt to the Sea is definitely in line with Bone Sparrow for chances of winning the Amnesty Award!
