Tidy is a wonderfully illustrated book, portraying humanity's slow destruction of hundreds of natural habitats. This book though, does not show human beings. Instead, we meet a very neat Badger that likes everything "Tidy" in his forest. So much, that he grooms all the animals, vacuumed the forest floor, picks up every leaf and so on, until he goes as far as to cover everything with concrete, showing the first clue that the badger represents our species (building roads and other concrete based structures). But good heavens! He's covered up his own sett! Realising that he's made a mistake, he breaks all the concrete and replants all the trees and all the greenery. And the forest goes back to normal.
The message is very well brought through, with bright colours, and interesting details that leave the reader smiling.
I would recommend this book to children aged 6-10.
