Salt to the Sea
Salt to the Sea is a journey which bursts with drama and emotion. It is a gripping story that really captivates you, pulling you into the scene. Ruta Sepetys captures the detail in a heartbreaking way making you realise the tragedy on war. The book has four different points of view that really add emphasis on the whole story, it makes you understand some of the difficult decisions the characters make. The characters are all aiming for different outcomes from boarding the William Gustloff, which makes every characters point of view very touching and understandable. The book is filled with brutal and horrifying scenes that are written brilliantly however are a bit grim. This is an outstanding novel that I really enjoyed and would recommend.
