Ella, Books with Biscuits
I remember after reading this book recommending it to anyone I could find. I was attracted to this book because of the cover, and began reading what I thought was an innocent story about bullying, until Ruth is hit in the eye. I feel like it's a wonderful coming of age book, where a young girl is taught to grow up by such a crazy downward spiral of events caused by a cruel little girl (hence the 'when I was twelve I learnt to lie' thing), who's just trying to make someone else pay for personal things. Altogether, I think this book was marvellous and beautiful and I would love to read more like it.
