The Stars at Oktober Bend
Alice suffered from a brain trauma when she was twelve years old and finds it easier to write her thoughts down on paper rather than talk. Her life changes when Manny James, a refugee from Sierra Leone finds the poems she writes and tracks her down. They learn to trust and understand each other. The Stars at Oktober Bend is a heart-warming book with lots of character. I enjoyed it a lot but the end was a bit too rushed.
