The Stars at Oktober Bend
This book is absolutely amazing; its main character Alice has a problem with her head after an assault, her father is dead, her mother has disappeared and her grandfather in jail so, with just her grandmother and her brother, she has to get on with life.
Slowly her brother falls in love and soon it will be her turn to fall in love, and when Manny sees her sitting on the top of her house behind the star-lit sky he cannot help but to fall for her as well. As the story unfolds the couple’s lives become more and more troubled.
A brilliant book of how life will always go on and how loves beats hate. The book may seem a little strange and confusing at the start but eventually everything unfolds in the form of exhilarating flashbacks. An absolute must read.
