Beck

Beck is an amazing, heartwarming book although its use of abuse and violence throughout the book makes it a sensitive subject for a KS3 student to talk about. Beck is based and was written about the truth of some boys' lives in poorer countries where people need money and most boys and girls are placed into homes due to the lack of birth control and and due to the lack of money. Although this book contains abuse and sensitive subjects I would fully recommend this book to anyone with an interest in deep novels. I am only a few chapters in yet the writers use of imagination is amazing, this book makes the reader feel like they are there in the book experiencing the pain with Beck. However one thing I would recommend the reader should know, is that the story is very slow and it takes quite a lot of time to understand what is happening in the story. Apart from that and the violence so far I would give this book a 7/10
