Cameron, Whitstone School
This is a review on Beck, by Mal Peet. I'm going to start off by stating the positives: there are good descriptions and realistic dialogue weaved within this tale of discrimination. These are the only positives I can give this novel given I did not finish it. For the negatives, there is no sense of hope as the world beats down hard on this little orphan's luck, and because of this I could not continue to read. I'm sure that it has more redeeming qualities to it, but it is suitable for more of a mature audience.
