Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth
This book is based around the strange relationship between a young boy called Prez – who doesn’t speak - and a mind reading dog/human called Sputnik, and together they have to save the world from being shrunk by finding ten amazing things worth seeing.
This was a very unique book. The storyline was original, as well as the characters and events. Some areas were a little strange and the ending was very unexpected.
This book would be great for young, keen readers around seven or above. It was easy to read but still quite thick and so would be quite a good challenge for younger readers. Personally, I didn’t enjoy it much because the way it was written and the storyline was really childish - despite this some parts were quite funny. As a younger child, it would probably be one of my favourites though.
