The Bone Sparrow
I found this book rather shocking as it showed the appalling nature of how refugees are treated around the world. I like this book a lot as it was gripping and the fact that it was based on the situations of millions of refugees just added to the plot and suspense of the book as a whole. The story itself was very well written and the characters were constructed to perfection, creating in my eyes what seemed to be a very realistic representation of what it must be like in those camps and detention centres. This book was my third favourite out of the eight shortlisted and I would give it a rating of eight out of ten.
