Where the World Ends

To be honest I thought the book was ok, average as there were no big plot twists and it did not really engage me. Not a lot happened and most details seemed insignificant to the story. The main character was not relatable and did not seem like a normal person. It told only a little about the historical period and even that was mostly general knowledge. The story dragged on for 316 pages and in some parts did not even make sense and so confused me at times. I did not feel the book had a proper ending as the character speaking was not the main character who told the whole story. Altogether I think the book was ok but I do not really understand why it was chosen.
