Mrs Bennington, Prince Henry's High School
Beck, an orphan, is shipped from Ireland to the Catholic Brothers in Canada where the abuse of the brothers there, shapes his life. This is an interesting and moving story of a young man trying to find a sense of belonging who goes through many hardships, but it is not for younger teens and for that reason I do not think it belongs on the Carnegie list. I do think it is a very good read for young adults. I would give this 9/10.
