Madeleine, Gordano School

The Stars at Oktober Bend

I started off thinking, 'hmmm is this going to be good?', but the book proved magically that the answer is yes! Once you get past the no capital letters the poetic inferences and unique view on the world are just wonderful to read. The protagonist, Alice, writes small poems about her difficult life in Bridgewater and her loving brother Joey. Overall, it is shows how little things affect people in big ways, and eventually for the better.
