The Bone Sparrow

The Bone Sparrow is a book by Zana Fraillon. It is a book about a boy called Subhi, who lives in a refugee camp in Australia. As he was born in the camp he has never seen the outside world. Jimmy is a girl, who is very curious. One day she ventures into the camp, where she meets Subhi. The two make friends and start to discover the mysteries of the bone sparrow and how it came to be Jimmy’s.

I found the book quite interesting and I liked the author (Zana Fraillon) style of writing. At some points I found it dragged on a bit but apart from that I really liked it.

I would recommend this book for people, who like stories about friendship. In addition I would recommend this for ages 11+ and I would rate it 3.5 stars out of 5.
