Braden, Prince Henry's High School
This book is an extraordinarily well written journey of a boy looking for a place to survive. He goes through many hardships, from the Sisters of Mercy (not sisters and no mercy), to the Christian Brothers in Canada, then he is put to work on a farm where he is mistreated by a family because of the color of his skin. No-one can help him there. So he moves on. But where next? Will he ever find a place to belong? I would give this book 8/10, however it isn't for younger readers.
