Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth

When Prez, who has stopped speaking, looks at Sputnik, he sees a boy who talks to him, and who knows Prez' thoughts. Everyone else sees a dog. Sputnik is from various planets in space and knew Laika, the dog who was sent up to space by the Russians. Prez has to help Sputnik find 10 things worth saving the earth for, and when Prez goes to stay on a farm in Stramoddie for the summer, from the Temporary where he lives since his grandfather went into a home, the search begins.
This is a funny, light hearted take on life, for a boy from a difficult background who would like a home of his own. It is for quite a young age group but is an engaging read, and I would give it 7/10. It is equally appealing for boys and girls.
