After the Fire

"After the Fire" was a compelling book about a girl called Moonbeam; it followed her life as part of the religious cult before the 'fire' and in a rehabilitation centre after the 'fire'. I really enjoyed letting the story unfold as I, the reader, learned more about her situation. It made you think about what it would be like if you were actually in her position and provoked a sense of emotion throughout the book, the difference between the truth and lies. It showed how one person can completely control a group of people, a very scary thought. One of the most interesting points and what made the book less fictional and more believable was that it was based on a real life event. I loved this book and would rate it 5 stars.
