Salt to the Sea

Salt to the Sea is a really meaningful book- it is set in the Second World War. I really liked it because I feel that Ruta Sepetys has written it really well; it is from the perspective of four different characters and I feel that she did this effectively. Many authors have tried doing this, however some just get me confused so it did not work so well. The four characters in Salt to the Sea mix paths at different points in the story but they are all trying to achieve the same thing- getting on a ship to get to freedom. They all use each other’s help, and they get there, eventually. I would recommend this book to other readers because I feel that it is a topic that should be written about and it is effectively written.
