Liza, Fortismere

To be honest Railhead was a sheer pain to read. The whole plot is desperate to sound futuristic and unique, basing this world on trains, but their is no true importance or symbolism behind the words Railhead which would have been nice to see.
Railhead is base in the future following Zen Starling, whose life story was introduced much to forcibly and desperately for my liking, it didn't flow smoothly and naturally. Anyway Zen is introduced as a minor thief, who is then kidnapped by the evil man Raven to steal something bigger while finding out something more about his past. The name Raven is a clear cliche of evil, without many surprises or plot twists. Also throughout the whole book there is no emotion mentioned whatsoever. Overall it is a boring, monotonous and dragging read, lacking many techniques or distinguishing features. I would give it a 3/10
