Rosie, Faringdon Community College
Annabelle has always lived at Wolf Hollow, knows everyone who lives there and she loves the tranquillity that blankets the rural town. That is until Betty moves into her class at school. Annabelle is thrust into a dangerous world of unknowing and deceit. Can she save Toby, a shell shocked young adult who has just returned from war, from being blamed for Betty's sudden disappearance? Or will it be too late...Lauren Wolk crafts a beautiful image of brutal despair through the eyes of Annabelle. I think that this book is an amazing insight into the innocence of a child, and the strength of belief. Annabelle is forced to find Betty, her cruel bully and prove that Toby is not guilty. I would recommend this book to anyone but be prepared- once you start reading you will be whirled away into the mystery of a missing child and you won't be the same person ever again.
