The Bone Sparrow

I really liked The Bone Sparrow. I thought the characters were so well developed and they really

stood out rather than being an average boring, plain character. My favourite character was Eli (even

though he dies) as his character was a sort of peacekeeper and he served as a brotherly figure to the

main character and he stayed strong in the camp. Another amazing aspect of the book is that it

didn’t portray anyone as the main antagonist or ‘baddie’ so it wasn’t a big struggle to do one thing it

was a book with events that weren’t triggered by the main character so it was more his reaction to
the events. I thought the plot was good because it really flowed but I found it a bit predictable and

the only big surprise was Eli dying; on the other hand, I don’t think the plot needed many twists and

turns as it was better simplistic. I think the author did an amazing job and achieved trying to give us

a better insight into refugees and the conditions they live in.

I give this book 4 ½ stars out of five as it really fulfilled its role.
