Adam, St Anselm's Readers
Despite its rave reviews on the cover, I really didn't get this book; to be honest, I'm not sure whether the book knew what it wanted to be. The guidance on the site is that the book is for readers 8 and over, but I don't think that an 8 year old would be able to access the whole book independently, and there isn't enough in it, in my opinion, for an adult reader to read aloud to an eight year old- I certainly found none of it remotely funny. I think the key problems are with characterization (at the end of the day, people who can't pronounce the letter r are not cute, e.g. Jonathan Ross) and the Wimbley Woos are hardly worth going through the looking glass for. Worst Carnegie book ever: 2/10.
