The Bone Sparrow

The Bone Sparrow is a fictional novel, written in the first person to show the brutal life of a refugee.I really enjoyed reading this book because it was written in the first person, as it gave us a real insight into the life of a refugee. This book made me feel grateful, as I have a proper home and I am safe, unlike millions of people around the world who don't. This book is for people for the age of ten and above because it contains some disturbing content, but it's very well written.

The content in the was disturbing, as you would expect in a book about refugees, but it helped the disturbing mood of the book, like when it mentioned people sewing their mouths together. The main character in the book was Subhi. He is a naughty boy, who was born in the immigration centre and knows nothing expect the life behind bars. He is, as you would expect, brave, as he has to steal to get his family extras and to trade. The theme of this book helps raise awareness about all the refugees around the world and to try and help them.

I would rate this book 9 out of 10.
