Salt to the Sea

Salt to the Sea is a very moving and emotional book. It is all about the story of four people involved in the evacuation of Germany during the second world war.Hundreds of thousands of war victims fled to the coast to board an overcrowded ship. This overcrowded ship was the last hope and a promise to safety and freedom but not all promises can be kept. I personally really enjoyed this book but it is not for everybody. It takes you on a journey feeling four different peoples takes on the war. You learn their fears, hopes, dreams and pasts. One of the only things they have in common is the fact that they are all from a land of torture, fear and regret. I would recommend this book to those who want to learn about the biggest aquatic disaster in history. It is fiction, however, it takes you on a story. Personally, I would categorize this book as historical fiction. Overall this book is really moving and motivating I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of eleven.
