Salt to the Sea

Salt To The Sea is a novel set in World War 2. Four people are all fleeing war-torn Germany to the coast desperately trying to board a ship out of the broken country.
I chose to read this book because I am a big fan of war time stories. Also, the title and the front cover look very gripping and intriguing. On the front cover it is very strange because at the top there are many birds flying in the air and when we think of birds, we think of peacefulness. Then underneath it shows barbed wire which is compared to prison.
I really enjoyed this book because of the way it is set out.The story line is the same from four different perspectives.
My favourite character is Joana because she has a lot of pressure on her self because she is a nurse so she is helping everybody. She is also very nice and accepts everybody. Even though it would have been harder to cross the border with a Polish person, she still accepted Emilia in to the group.
