'Railhead' is a book based in what I guess must be the future and could be classed as a sci-fi adventure novel, and is where the main source of transportation across the galaxy is by train using these 'K-Gates'. It follows the journey of a young boy called Zen Starling, a low-time thief who, one day, gets tangled up in something that is way above him, and with only two options, he must decide which side to join.
My favourite Character is definitely Raven who, despite being introduced a bit later in the book, is one of the most complex characters in the story. One reason that Raven is my favourite character is that he is quite mysterious and also rebellious. This makes me like him because it adds depth to his character and gives him a unique personality.
I enjoyed this novel because it had a good amount of character development and it created attachments between different people in the story. This is good because it shows that the writer didn't just abandon the characters and focus on just the plot, but that they instead, made sure that everything was at least good. However, I do think that sometimes, it did get a small bit uninteresting because I do personally like action in books and don't mind it when something happens that is not action, but I would like more action in this story.
Apart from that, this novel was a definite page-turner and I would recommend it to anybody that likes sci-fi, moderate action and also some complex thinking. I would rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
