Samuel, Royal Readers

I have recently finished reading a novel called 'Beck' and I must say that i did extremely like reading the beginning and middle of the book. Beck, the protagonist, is quite literally put into the worse situation. He was born of a brief encountered between his mother and an African american soldier. Beck is a 'Negro' which during the early 1900's would have been a huge hold-back growing up especially when you are an orphan... I do feel like the ending to this book , written by Meg Rosoff , wasn't the best ending to the book. I did, however, enjoy this book and would recommend it to any young reader who is looking to widen their vocabulary and wants an adventure!
