After the Fire
After the Fire is a beautiful novel about the strength of the human mind and the consequences of religious extremism. I couldn’t put this book down! I thought the plot was well- researched and insightful as cultism is a subject I’ve never read about before. I loved the character of moonbeam, the therapist and the detective as they’re very thought- out characters. However, I felt that the other characters in the book are two dimensional and are only there to further the narrative. I liked the character of detective Nathan but I felt that character could have been developed further and he could have had a more substantial role in aiding Moonbeam’s recovery. Overall, I loved the book; I was captivated by the amazing plot and interesting story line but I felt the ending was predictable and there weren't enough twists in the book.
