Mrs Jones, Stockport Grammar School
Wed Wabbit is an Alice in Wonderland-like tale of a young girl transported in to a fantasy land where the rules of the real world do not apply. Wed Wabbit, the dictator of Wimbley land bears similarities to the Red Queen in that he likes to shout and seems to enjoy summary punishments for minor misdeeds. It is a brave thing for any writer to invite comparisons to a book as loved as Alice and Lissa Evans does not quite pull it off. Wimbley Land lacks the magic of Wonderland and I really found it quite hard to care about the fate of the Wimbly Woos because they were so annoying!
